90SC becomes an election office

Hi all,
Let me write about the days when 90SC was an election office. Janaardhanam alais
Magudapathi alais Mullu mama contested the MLC election around 1979 or 80 and
the house became an election office.
The Members of Legislative council are elected by learned people, people who have
finished college, notoriously lazy people. You cannot have meetings and others you
have with Assembly elections. Lists of voters have to be obtained and letters have
to be sent to them.
As I was in Salem, studying for my engineering I was asked to canvas in Salem.
It was quite an experience.
Mama was at the heights of his popularity. He was AIADMK's candidate. But all
the work was done by family and friends.
The counting was done at the collector's office. Mama won easily.
It was a great time for the family. AIADMK Functionarys grudgingly admitted
that mama had won on his own. Mama quickly told them that without their
help(?) he could not have won. A true politician!

Phone less

HI everyone

My cell phone has been left behind at coimbatore so please call on the land line if you have to for the next week. Next week I will be going down again on way to Bhubaneswar for Sindhu's convocation... with Kalai, MRg, Appa and goutham.
Anyone wants a copy, it will have to be done alltogether.. because the ones that I have done are already booked.

Haru, good you are waiting till you are rich enough to get a copy of the book. Thata appreciates different aspects at different times -among them the length of your contribution, Kapu's poem!, Nandhika's literary skills... Surya's insights.. Dachu's practical note... note its all the younger generation!! except kap.
One more page is getting added... for errata and omissions... and then will reach respective people. Lalli aunty since yours is already on the way, will send you extra page by email:-)

Kallu -Three and million cheers for her

The book has been viewed by me as I am in cbe , and i am really stunned by the enormous effort that has gone into it, Including a photo of Rao Sahib and all the others including all the new kids on the block
Its a phenomenal effort and unless you get the colour print version, it wouldnt last ages and I think its worth more than Rs 1000 but as Kallu doesnt want more than 1000 Rs per book I was so forced to pay only that
So dont read this online !
Its really very very good and Thanks again kallu for doing this huge effort
