Baby pic

HI, I know I know I have been remiss in informing people about the new arrival. But it was hectic and it still is. Im only having this break because Prashanth decided to turn up as a delightful surprise here suddenly. And now takes care of the baby so much that I can do other things.

Rudra alias Pavithran alias Satvik alias Advait alias Vashist ( please indicate your vote) will be getting named on Sunday here at Ooty while his Dad is here.
Anyone who can make it here is welcome.

Rudra is a night baby so far.. staying awake most of the night. Dachu is still in a daze and yet to recover fully from the cycle of pain and staying awake .

He is wearing a sweater set knitted by Vishy's Mom.

    any name other than "pavithran" please..its a 2 generation old name (google pavithran and see what comes ) ..if u r considering pavithran, i suggest u include pattabiraman,sivasankaran,Anbarasu Thiruchelvan etc also into that list :) :)

    Dear Kalyani,
    I like the name Pavithran.The other names are sanscrit names. Pavithran is not a name like pattabiram or----.
    "Pavithra comes from the Indian word which means, "Purity.". ."

    Hi

    Based on my experience with a name starting with the alphabet V it is frustrating to be at the end of all names to be called so preferably try some alphbet earlier on in the sequel--all sound like new unheard names but I did not find the meanings except what Lali aunty wrote.

    For my kids I used numerology and got both their names for a book_Raehan and Nikita.All the best

    Thanks Lalli Aunty and Kumari for all the deep interest and concern you have shown in the selection of the names.The parents are considering all possibilites very deeply from all angles.. for instance what will the Aussies make of a name like 'SivaPerumal' which is Appa's suggestion.... and then will decide.
    BTW Kumari, Archana alias Sindhu is strongly against a name which begins with 'A' as you get to be called first for tests and so on...
    so all sorts of interesting human insights are being thrown up.

    We finally had a delightful function on Sunday with attendance from Thatha, Anandhi chitti, Rak's parents other than the usual suspects of grandparents and Sindhu and Raks(alias Ragi yetta). Thanks to all who extended their blessings to the baby.

    We named the child as

    Advaith or अद्वैत

    Etymology
    अ- (a-, “not”) +‎ द्वैत (dvaita, “dual”)

    Noun
    अद्वैत • (advait) m.
    absolute oneness, one without a second, non duality.
    monism, branch of Hinduism, advaita vedanta.
    belief that the universal soul and the individual soul are one
    belief that spirit and matter are one
    absolute truth

    Reference to the child as johny or advise or advani or sivaperumal or anything else will be penalised with demand for more gifts. :)
