happy birthday to the new adult . ananya . hope u had a good day. kapu.
thx kalyani, I don't know why but people in India alway call her Ananya, think it is a common name there. Sorry about Paradesi, but it does tell the story of Indian migrant workers who are very much the part of Indian Diaspora around the world.
Belated wishes to Anya. About names - I went for a dance program today done by students of a local academy and there was hardly one name in the 60 or so which sounded even remotely Tamil or Tamilish. Ananya was there too:-) Migrant workers do and did have a horrible time. Even chinese prisoners were brought to the Nilgiris to work during the World Wars. Right now, workers are commanding a high labour rate so people are selling agricultural lands.
