90 sivanandha colony

words will not suffice to describe it, a place where we learned so many things ,by way of practise rather than preaching.
-respect to elders, how all the kids jump up to offer the chairs to elders since there was never enough to go around. even ramesh would compare our kids favourably in this aspect to other friends kids.
--honesty,politeness, courtesy and most of all to respect other people fellings. -
--to share what we had, without complaint and to put other people first.
all these we mostly learned from amma who was the one who controlled and disciplined us.
appa was a far of figure to be treated with respect, until amma was there.
only later he moved to her spot and played both roles ,making excuses to get all of us to come home, keeping us together.
--on a happier note , home is where we took people for granted, athais and their early morning cofee. i buy the same aavin milk ,the same COFEE powder but something is missing when i make it--the love and affection ????.
---i remember rushing to school with appa, shoes socks and ribbons and sometimes even breakfast would be in the car. for he would not wait even a single sssecond .
--- chitis chitappas dropping in at all hours with loads of snacks gifts and laughter.
---cousins at every holiday. the games, the fights and picnics.
---through this all appa went unfailingly to the clinic to keep the house going. we dint appreciate the sacrifice then , i do now.

its the qualities that we learnt there that has kept me going and able to face the world with a head held high.
sivanandha colony---i wouldnt exchange it for any other place--- lets keep it the same.

What do I say???

Kalyani keeps me reminding on writing about 90 sivananda colony... what do i write? would this blog be enough to write... i can keep writing for days together... mixture of emotions, feelings, which one do I bring first?!?!? Until this moment I have never felt that i dont have a mother's house as would any woman would boast of.. always walked in any time, any moment and pull whatever is in the fridge and start off as we would do in our own home.. I can recollect of how when we were kids would rush to the single room in the first floor (way back.....) when we hear the horn of 3700 at the corner of the road and the pindrop silence maintained until mama leaves the houseto clinic... when athai used to take care so many of us with various eating habits and attitude... one with dosai , ghee roast, idlis... playing TRADE at all odd hours, playing and fighting with Ramesh (one among the family now...) with big sticks.... and kapu with her wooden houses built in the mottai maadi... great and sweet memories... carrom board played in the verandah and athai trying to make us all eat with not much of yelling (as we do even with single or couple of kids...) could we find one like this anymore...

As and when we grew up visiting was restricted but would always dream to get back there with the next generation of ours and relax for a while, as athai had the generous heart of taking care of them and asking us to go out and relax... could we find anyone like that anymore...

Lots of laughter, gossip, as soon as all 4Ks get together and the united relationship inspite of diversified ideas has given me the feeling that I still have a home away from my own.. Not to bother about anything... just relax in the house, with no questions asked... would I get a place like this anymore..

Anandhi...

Delicious food in Sivananda colony

Dear Kalyani,
Cut and paste this for your future booklet. To think of the food in 90,Sivananda colony is Great. Yes! like always Kalyana samayal sadam. When we reach coimbatore early morning from Madras, the first person we see would be your Appa( Dr.Anna) ,greeting us with a doop stick on hand ( which is used for his personal purpose). Then Anni Dr.Annas Akka. Lalitha how are you? She gives you the best coffee in the morning. Specially for me 2 or 3 times. Even to day it happens I suppose. When your mummy was there I still remember on seeing us, she would ask ponnamma to bring Chicken and we enjoy non veg in your house ( specially for her beloved brother). I have to mention this. Well another treat in that house is the mangoes from Pazha muthir Cholai. That too, Kalai removing the skin of Mulgova mango Ha! Ha! I am craving for those days. Any marriage in the house. Appappa!!! different sweets. Always 90 Sivananda colony The cooking is JAGAN MOHINIS samayal than. In the absence of Baby Anni I still enjoyed the Thandhoori Chicken made by Raja in front of the house. 90 Sivananda colony is a mandhir which fed so many people. It was our Capital restaurant and all of us enjoyed our food. I am sure there is no one to deny the facts that I have placed here.
