thx kalyani, I don't know why but people in India alway call her Ananya, think it is a common name there.
Sorry about Paradesi, but it does tell the story of Indian migrant workers who are very much the part of Indian Diaspora around the world.

About names - I went for a dance program today done by students of a local academy and there was hardly one name in the 60 or so which sounded even remotely Tamil or Tamilish. Ananya was there too:-)
Migrant workers do and did have a horrible time. Even chinese prisoners were brought to the Nilgiris to work during the World Wars. Right now, workers are commanding a high labour rate so people are selling agricultural lands.
Kap, the missionary couple were really mad:-) Im surprised some Pentecostal Mission hasnt filed a case against Bala
