HI People

I was uploading some photos for the blog and got up to do something (with Advaith around its hard to do anything for more than 10 uninterrupted minutes) so my busybody daughter published the whole thing because she wanted to do something else.

So, the write up went missing.
One of the things I wanted to say is - its the adults who enjoy the animals more  - actually we get to see the world again in more detail, when there is a grandchild around. I dont think the child is particularly amazed at seeing the animals in the wild ( on the road to Mudumalai) or is aware of the privilege he is enjoying. Actually Advaith was pretty unhappy on seeing the line up of the wild boar family . Not a relation at all to PEppa Pig and his family. I was so felled by seeing the giraffes and the lions and cheetahs in Mysore zoo.I havent been near a zoo for a couples of decades I guess :-)

And Cubbon Park ? Who goes there? Some families do Its heartening to see with lunch. And grandchildren And bored sons in law.

At the dinner party for cadets this year.
Two days ago was watching NDTV here, when for the first time ever the temperature in Manchester was higher than Chennai, it was raining in Chennai though.
Bring on global warming if the summers here are going to be this good. :)

Life in the middle lane !!!

I logged back after some time and glad to note the posts and was funny as well,
Nice to see all the pics as well, well done kumari

Talking about exercise in the middle ages,  It is difficult with various duties etc
anyway as long as we can move we move !
only when it comes to climbing stairs where there is no lift etc we wonder,,, god how did we get this asthma
, never had it before
and checking weight we take of our shoes and belt etc and then make sure it was closer to the weight we had ages ago

anyway life goes on

the things we do in private practise!!!!!!

yesterday i had a patient for mammogram,who came accompanied by 2 relations.
i had just opened the centre, the technitian was late, and settled down to my lunch with the morning newspaper , when in walked the 3 of them, i hurriedly closed my lunch and opened the mammo room with the key, switched on the lights and saw a big fat rat sitting on the stool. with patients outside the room, i couldnt show any expression. i closed the door ,hoping the rat would take off the way it got into a locked room.
after 5 mts, i again opened the mammo room, and saw the rat in the same position , spitting and hissing at me, maybe it had hoped i would go the way i had come in and leave it in peace.
i decided enough is enough and shut the door, got the brrom and chased it around the room ,whacking it all the time , making the least noise possible and at last it gave up. i pushed it behind the table where the patients could not see it. and switched on the mammo machine , turned around and saw the rat was missing , it was still alive.
luckily it was too weak and a few more whacks with the broom took care of it.
i shut the door, went out ,gave a sweet smile to the patient and got the mammo done after the technitian came.after the patient left i had to carr the rat outside as my technitian refused to touch it.

due to the presence of the patient , i could not reveal the presence of the rat, nor could i act ladylike and stand on the stool and scream,and shout for help as i could have done if i was not the owner of the centre !!!1

oh god !!!! leave me alone.

past few days iam trying to dodge all my friends who seem bent on making me look slim and trim,
my doctor friend below messages me at 6.00 am ,shall we go swimming or to gym today.
i cook up some excuse-its drizling .
at 7.00 pm , my friend oposite aprtment calls- come lets go gym. the trainer will be there -2nd excuse-sooryy just got back .
at 8.00 pm my friend next door-- you promised u will come for shuttle regularly after radhakrishnan left -come now!!!. excuse 3- definitely i will come next week onwards.
u may think the danger was past - but i couldnt avoid the in house persuasion . atlast i gave in and went at sanjus compulsion to shuttle at 9.30 after dinner. we had just bought a new bat and so he was all enthusiastic.

i am running outof excuses .please help me.

maybe it was just due to all this talk about excersice - i was on the winning team in the kho-kho match today at our apartment and won my first cup in sports in my whole life.
i also was a part of the treasure hunt team [in absentia ] and won the 2nd cup today . actually while the game was on i was doing a scan for a patient . my team covered my absence and i rushed back in time to recieve the cup !!!!!.
i did the scan in black track suit, black t-shirt and shoes and socks -- .
