'Super Seniors"

Dear all,

When I started writing about 90SC I decided to touch each and everybody.

Here the "Super Seniors".

Our grandfathers and grandmothers were all blessed with long life.

Their lives ranged from 60 to 90+. Can anybody tell who lived the longest?

Is it Ranjithakka ammachi or Subramaniam thatha(father of Thiagu mama)

Anna nagar thatha and ammacchi were very lovable people.

Rajakka ammachi and Palanisamy thatha had brought me up as a kid at Aruvankadu.

Palanisamy thatha's eyes were donated after he died.

Thangakka ammachi had business in her genes. You usually see youngsters

slip out of marriage halls to have a fag. Subramaniam thatha did that even after 85 to

my great amusement.

Coimbatore thatha was very happy with his prayers and to do whatever his granddaughters

asked him to do.

Ranjitakka ammachi was the matriarch. As she entered the last days of her life she was

reduced to bones and skin. Even then her mind was ticking perfectly. There is a custom

in our families to drape the corpse in a saree. She said that she did not want the saree.

My grand son in UK Dr. Nambi will come to see me off. Whatever he wears put it over me.

She died that evening. Next day I was there when the trolley was pushed inside with the

light green T shirt that Nambi was wearing over her.

Chendi, great effort. To remember each member of the family and starting with the golden oldies.
The recalling of peria amachi was very touching.
