This was who he was and chose to be till the end - a man on a public stage.
Arangananyagam came to the hospital on Monday to see him. And that was how he would have chosen to go - feted and sung by all the men he chose to be with. Men like him who choose the political arena and a world of ideas and talk.

He was a man with incredible energy, had the oppurtunity to see him at my last visit to India. He was in a hospital bed at Chromepet. He had requested me to write up the NY wedding in Tamil, which I duly emailed him a few days later. He was very enthusiastic about his 75th birthday celebrations, I don't think he was that age yet, but I heard it went well. Probably he had a premonition of things to come. He has given a lot for the family. God Bless.
